I am a true believer of the old saying “life hap

I am a true believer of the old saying “life happens FOR you”.
As opposed to life happening TO you.
I believe that in every moment we have a choice.
When life hands us an experience, we can choose to kick and scream -
Or we can choose to embrace it.
Embracing does not mean liking it. It merely means that we are not using all of our energy trying to fight what is in front of us.
If we spend all our time kicking and screaming, we miss out on the opportunity to find the pot of gold underneath the rainbow of shit. 🌈
Even our most brutal experiences have lessons and pieces of gold to be found.
Sometimes when we’re right in the thick of it, hearing this can make you feel like you want to say a big ole’ “f*ck you” to life (or to whoever is telling you this!) 🖕
Many times, we aren’t able to access the gold until after the experience has passed.
If you’re deep in the weeds, I urge you to surrender, and trust that somehow, somewhere, and at some point - there will be a pot of gold to be found.
But it is up to you if you choose to look for it 💕

You are not broken.
You never will be. You never were. And you never are.
You are not broken because there is nothing to fix.
Not one thing, my love.
When you are in my presence, I will hold you through anything.
I will walk with you into every nook and cranny of your being.
No matter how dark, gnarly, or jagged it is.
I will sit alongside you as you navigate the murky waters inside your being.
But I will never fix you.
For there is nothing to fix.
And you, my friend, are not broken.

Returning home from Portland has felt hard 🏡
The re-entry into life after two weeks of holidays has brought up its own challenges and considerations.
I went through so much expansion during my training and learnt so much.
When working with developmental trauma, you are working on the very foundation of your life.
You hit incredibly deep parts of yourself, the very building blocks of your life. When you make changes at this level, your whole life feels different.
I have also been contemplating what I need to get clear on in my life and where my energy needs to flow.
What was important to me on holidays that I can incorporate into my daily life?
Freedom. Love. Deep relationships. Activity on the daily.
What parts of my life can I cut out that aren’t working for me anywhere?
Becoming clear on where my energy needs to flow.
Finding balance of personal time, friend time, and work.
And letting go of responsibilities that I have been taking on that aren’t necessary.
Coming home from trips can be hum-dingers! Especially when we have had so much expansion.
However, it gives us a golden opportunity to deeply reflect on our life, and all the “extra bits of fat” that we can trim off to truly design our life for what works best for us.

Life isn’t about what you have, it's about who you have.
Last month, I was attending a funeral of a dear family member.
After everybody in our group had left the cemetery, I noticed a car parked close by.
It was an old 80’s chitty chitty bang bang kind of car.
It looked a bit out of place, and I thought “Hmmm, I don’t think that is one of our cars”.
As my eyes panned to the side, I noticed an old man sitting on a very old, run down chair.
He was sitting in front of a headstone, with an 8 x 10 picture frame placed on the ground in front of him - talking to his wife’s headstone.
It appeared that this man did not have a whole lot by today's standards.
But this woman clearly had his heart.
I was so moved in that moment, thinking about what truly matters in this life.
Through all of our trials and tribulations in our lives, what it always comes down to is the fact that we had another person by our side.
In the end, all of the material things that we acquire in life really don’t mean much in comparison to someone who LOVES us deeply.
What it comes down to is who you had, and the impact that you made on the people in your life.
Hold your people close, for they are the most prized possessions you will ever have.

There are very few places where we can show up as

There are very few places where we can show up as our whole self and be welcomed.
And for most of us, we don’t even have a clue of what that is or how that would look.
We haven’t had the chance to slow down, turn in, and see what wants to unfurl.
What so many of us are deeply craving is a place to explore who we truly are - as opposed to “who we think we should be”.
A place to pull off all of the masks we wear, and bear witness to our true selves - in whatever glory that is!!
A place where we can be supported, celebrated, and loved up as we connect the dots of our life.
A place where we can begin to make sense of ourselves.

There are many relationships that you will have in

There are many relationships that you will have in this lifetime.
But there is one that trumps them all.
Your relationship with your body.
The majority of us have had many ruptures to this relationship, and have not been able to come back into connection with ourselves.
➡️Injuries, accidents, surgeries
➡️Intense emotional pain
➡️Bodily violations
➡️Needing reassurance to help us make sense of our experience but it wasn’t available
Can all pop us out of our bodies.
In fact, we may be so out of connection, that we may not even know that we are not connected to our body!
When we are connected to our body (i.e. embodied) we are able to:
✨Listen to and ask for what we need
✨Know ourselves deeply
✨Attune to ourselves and our loved ones
✨Feel the juicy aliveness that all of life has to offer
✨Know what our boundaries are instead of what we think they should be
Your body is deeply craving to be heard and connected with.
If you can work at rekindling this relationship, I assure you that your life will change immensely.

Just heading into my last day of an Advanced Post Grad Class in Developmental Trauma facilitated by Kathy Kain in Portland, Oregon.
The colours of Portland are stunning! And the learnings have been incredibly rich.
The folks that are here are deeply steeped in the developmental trauma world, so the caliber of therapists are highly skilled.

“JUMP!!!!” Is what my subconscious screamed as

“JUMP!!!!” Is what my subconscious screamed as there was fish snot streaming from a fish I had just caught. 🎣
Early on in my marriage I was fishing with my husband in our boat.
He’s an uber clean guy. I always say that he is “keeping it for the next guy” when it comes to his stuff.
(I.e. He takes meticulous care of his truck and boat so that it won’t get worn or dirty for the guy he sells it to). 🚤
Growing up, my mom was also incredibly clean. Our house often smelt like bleach and we always used to joke about being able to eat off the bathroom floor. 🧹
So here I am, with a big ole jackfish that I had just reeled in - and it starts to slime all over the carpet of the boat.
The same boat carpet that I had heard my husband complaining about earlier in regards to how hard it is to clean.
Without even thinking I went into full trigger. 💥
My logical brain went completely offline, and my primal brain kicked in full force.
Everything in me said:
💥“JUMP!!”
💥“This is NOT good”.
Before I knew it I was halfway off the boat, ready to swim to shore!!🤿
It took my husband intervening with some logical thought processes in order for me to crack my TRIGGER response.
How many times have you been completely irrational in your responses? Sometimes feeling like you’ve had a possession of some sort because your reaction is so out of character? This is because a “PART” of us has gotten triggered and thrown the nervous system awry.

At times, our lives can feel as if we are made up

At times, our lives can feel as if we are made up of a million different puzzle pieces, with no reference on how to put them all together.
We wonder:
✨Why am I so reactive towards my husband over the tiniest little things?
✨Why do I always say that I want to go for that promotion or start my own business, yet find every excuse not to do it?
✨Why do I always get into the same kinds of relationships over and over again?
✨Why do I deeply crave intimate connection, yet can never seem to find it?
✨Why do I consistently not feel worthy of the love/money/relationships in my life?
When we aren’t able to put the puzzle pieces of our lives together, it can lead to confusion, self-shaming and a whole lotta discomfort.
The thing is - nobody taught us how.
Nobody told us that if our nervous systems are a little cattywampus, that it will affect every area of our life.
When we can understand our nervous system, life begins to make sense.
WE begin to make sense.
We begin to understand why we have so much reactivity, why we feel numb, overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, or unable to attain the things we want in our lives.

Today I want to acknowledge how many women have in

Today I want to acknowledge how many women have incredible gifts, yet hold them in hiding or secrecy.
Women who see things, women who feel things, women who are healers, women who know things, women who create things, and so on.
It is so amazing to see how many women are reclaiming and remembering their gifts.
Remembering who they are, and who they are in their lineages that are allowing them to be such amazing creatures.
So many more women are stepping out, yet I also want to acknowledge the women and parts of ourselves that we still keep hidden away.
I know that in my own life I have not had a whole lot of safe spaces that I have been able to share the extent of what I see, hear, feel, intuit, and know.
This is in direct relation to what I believe is the persecution wound.
When we begin to remember the extent of the gifts that we have had, it can feel viscerally uncomfortable to start to own them.
This is typically because there are many deep layers of persecution or judgement layered on top of these gifts.
Somewhere in our lineage, we were persecuted, killed, shunned, judged, or shamed for the incredible powers we held.
It can be difficult to navigate when our gifts start to come to the surface.
Our ego or protector parts want to keep us safe, and not break any social norms or make others uncomfortable.
Yet, our healer/seer/knower self couldn’t care less about being “different” or creating discomfort.
If you are a woman who is remembering and owning her gifts, I want you to know that I see you - and please keep remembering ❤️

When you have strong judgements or opinions of oth

When you have strong judgements or opinions of other people, I urge you to consider the following.
If you find yourself in a judgment, ask yourself WHAT you are actually judging.
You may be judging a part of yourself that you have disowned, or are denying.
You may be judging someone because they are mirroring a piece of yourself.
You may be judging because you are holding onto an outdated belief system or value.
When you notice yourself in judgment, take the time to slow down and figure out WHY you are making these judgments.
These moments can be gold mines into self discovery and growth.
Perhaps we are judging someone because we are holding onto an old belief (that we don’t actually even believe anymore!)
Or perhaps we are judging a co-worker for being quick to anger, when in reality, we are too (we just don’t like to admit it).
We are ALL Judgey McJudge Pants at one point or another. Myself included!!
This post is not to shame you for judging.
It is to let you know that you have a prime opportunity to learn/change something about yourself in these moments.
Not many of us take the time to step back and do some self- inquiry.
Next time your tailfeathers get ruffled, ask yourself “ What is actually going on here?”.

I don’t take myself too seriously.
If I…
…make a mistake -
Oopsie 🤷‍♀️
…forget something -
Oopsie 🤷‍♀️
…drop a jar of tomato sauce -
Oopsie 🤷‍♀️
…misattune to someone -
Oopsie 🤷‍♀️
In this life, we are all just doing the very best we can at any given moment.
If we shame ourselves when we “screw up” or “get it wrong”, we block ourselves from trying new things or explore failure.
We block ourselves from being able to “fall forward”.
The art of failing, and still getting up and trying again and again and again.
Everything in life is just practice.
Pulling in the concept of “Oopsie” allows your body to let perceived failures/fuck ups flow through you. It dissipates shame in an instant.
It allows you to carry on instead of getting stuck in what you “could’ve/should’ve” done.
Don’t take yourself so seriously.
It truly does not matter as much as you think it does! 🤗

Have you ever told yourself that you don’t want

Have you ever told yourself that you don’t want to do something, even though, deep down, you really do?
Our body and nervous system are designed to keep us safe.
We want to stay where we are comfortable, even if it isn’t serving us.
We keep telling ourselves we “don’t want to”.
❌…We don’t want to try a new job.
❌…We don’t want to learn how to salsa dance.
❌…We don’t want to have that hard conversation.
❌…We don’t want to move into a new house.
❌…We don’t want to take that trip we used to dream of.
We don't want to… we don’t want to…we don’t want to…
Why??🤷‍♀️
Because our nervous system doesn’t want to feel uncertain. It doesn't want to blow itself out.
Even if this action could be extremely helpful to us in the long run, it can feel really shaky to our systems.
We don’t know what will happen if we step into this change, and our body doesn’t like uncertainty.
If you ever find yourself saying “I don’t want to”, even though you think that you really do want to, it may be a sneaky little way that your nervous system is trying to keep you safe!

I learnt resilience from a little dog 🐶named Bo

I learnt resilience from a little dog 🐶named Boonlot in Thailand.
He had been speared 🗡accidentally, right through his little spine.
Despite what he had endured in his life, he was FULLY alive ✨.
He had this little swagger, and looked like he was dancing anywhere he went.
The life force energy in this little animal was saying “Yeah, I’m going. I’m doing life, and I’m doing it MY way”.
He still ran, and played, and had his little monkey 🐒 and elephant 🐘buddies.
Despite his adversity, he still made his best life happen.
And I fell absolutely in love💕 with him.
I remember thinking that I was going to hold onto this lesson with every single person that I met in this life.
We ALL are dealt a dodgy hand, face adversity, or simply go through shit at one point or another in our lives.
Yet, we can still live a deadly life.
Our adversities are the things that shape us, and give us the little swagger in our step. They’re the things that let us be ‘odd’ - without caring what others think.
They’ve given us the appreciation for the “good” cause we’ve been knee deep in the “bad”.
Shit happens in life.
And we have the power to keep on going anyways.
Just like my little friend Boonlot.
P.S. I tried to bring him home but he was going to have to stay in quarantine for SIX months. So I decided to leave him there 😞. But his legacy of “live your best life no matter what”, lives on in me.

At times in my life I have made decisions that hav

At times in my life I have made decisions that have been a full “yes”.
And then very quickly (and clearly) that decision turned into a “no”.
I began something that felt “right”, but soon realized that it was not a fit for me.
I needed to change course quite quickly.
And did just that.
There’s a belief system that many people hold that goes something like this:
“If I start something, I must follow through and finish it.”
I think that as human beings, we need to examine this belief system that has us going against the wisdom of our bodies.
Of course there are pros and cons to following through and not following through.
As well as times when something is a legitimate “no” for us, and times when we just don’t want to do something that we know is good for us.
But if your body is having a full on fucker melter - you need to listen to it!
It is ok to change course. Even if you just started a new job, a new hobby, or a new relationship.
It is ok to say “no”, even if you were a full “fuck yes” yesterday.
It is ok to change your mind.
It is ok, my love!!
It is ok <3

With the shifting of the seasons it’s important

With the shifting of the seasons it’s important to remember that we too have seasons.
Sometimes there can be a desire to stay in our busy seasons, where we’re always on the go. These fall months create an opportunity for us to remember to lean back, rest, and take our foot off the gas.

How many times have we heard “Come on, give your

How many times have we heard “Come on, give your Aunt Bessy a hug!”?
And watched a child who clearly did NOT want to be hugged, be squeezed and smooched up by Aunt Bessy.
I’m sure many of you have not only witnessed this, but experienced it yourself.
(PARENTS - this one's for you!)
In moments like this, it is vitally important to honour the nervous system of your child.
If they don’t wanna be hugged by Aunt Bessy, let them say no!
AND back them up in it.
These are NOT moments to take things personally.
Nor are they moments to worry that Aunt Bessy will think your child doesn’t like her if they don’t hug her.
Or worry that it’s hurting Aunt Bessy’s feeling to not receive a hug.
These are the moments to STAND BESIDE YOUR CHILD.
Stand by their nervous system.
Stand by their bodily autonomy.
Stand by their decisions of what does and does not happen to their body.
Set your discomfort and taking it personally aside.
Back up your child and fully support them in their decisions of when to reach out or not reach out.
